Job summary

Belmont Village Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to prepare meals for residents in our restaurant-style dining program. You will work in a professional kitchen, handling food prep, cooking, plating, and maintaining high quality standards.

Ideal candidates bring knife skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to food safety. Shifts include early mornings and weekend coverage, within a supportive culinary team.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting.
  • Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes precisely.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to recipes and standards.
  • Follow recipes, manage portions, and ensure attractive plating.
  • Manage cook times and multiple orders concurrently.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow checklists to keep kitchen stocked and organized.
  • Prioritize hospitality and resident satisfaction in every interaction.

ABOUT THE ROLE

(Full Time)

Wednesday and Thursday 5:30am to 2:00pm

Friday to Sunday 11:00am to 7:00pm

As a Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living, you will prepare and serve high-quality meals for residents and guests in our restaurant-style dining program. Working in a professional commercial kitchen, you'll be responsible for food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining the quality and presentation standards that create an exceptional dining experience.

YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic Culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
