Job summary

Freedom Village Bradenton is hiring a Healthcare Line Cook to prepare all food items per standardized recipes and ensure quality, temperature, and appearance are maintained for residents. The role supports multiple dining rooms with rotating menus and shifts typically from 11:30am-8pm in a senior living setting.

The ideal candidate understands English, follows recipes precisely, maintains high hygiene standards, and works as part of a team to deliver excellent resident-centered meals.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English; communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of batch cooking and following standardized recipes.
• Familiarity with food safety, handling and storage practices.
• Ability to plan and organize work to meet mealtime goals.
• Experience with standard kitchen equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces and roast items per recipes.
• Cook sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items per standards.
• Coordinate food production with meal serving hours.
• Ensure proper stock levels and timely preparation for daily menus.
• Maintain clean and sanitary workstation and personal hygiene.

ABOUT this ROLE:

The Healthcare Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes.

Our Independent Living Line Cooks work in three traditional restaurant style dining rooms with menus that rotate every week and work shifts typically from 11:30am- 8pm.

YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…

• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises, and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves all sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
• Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
