Job summary

Lincotek Hickory is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plant production machinery and facility maintenance at our North Carolina site. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs to minimize downtime, with responsibilities across equipment and Haz-Mat related tasks.

The ideal candidate will have CMMS and PLC knowledge, experience with vacuum and electronics, welding, and precise measurement tools, plus the ability to read blueprints and lift up to 50

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of CMMS, PLC, vacuum, electronics, welding and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment using the CMMS system.
• Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose failures, order needed parts and materials.
• Maintain positive relationships with plant staff to minimize downtime.
• Complete repairs with minimal supervision, including off-shifts when needed.
• Handle all planned and unplanned maintenance tasks for facilities.
• Update and manage maintenance documents and records.
• Evaluate new plant/process consumables and spare parts procurement.
• Respond to Haz-Mat incidents and assist with spill response.
• Clean up and prepare Hazardous Waste containers for disposal.
• Move hazardous waste containers to accumulation areas per procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The objective of the Maintenance Technician is to support plant production machinery and facility maintenance activities, as required.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions

• 1.Undertaking and completion of preventive maintenance activities to plant equipment utilizing the plant computerized maintenance management system.
• 2.Troubleshooting equipment problems or failures, determining the appropriate actions for repair, specifying parts and materials needed for repair, and ordering parts as required.
• 3.Developing solid, professional working relationships with all plant employees, and respondingto requests for maintenance in a timely manner so as to reduce plant equipment downtime.
• 4.Must have the ability to complete repairs to equipment with minimal supervision, especially while working on the off-shifts.
• 5.Perform all planned and unplanned facility maintenance activities
• 6.Manage and update maintenance documents
• 7.Analysis, purchase, installation and coordination for new plant/processes consumables and spare parts.
• 8.Respond to leaks and spills as a member of the Haz-Mat Emergency Response Team by loading waste into transport vehicles.
• 9.Clean up spills in the Hazardous Waste containers
• 10.Properly remediate spills and prepare containers for Hazardous Waste
• 11.Move hazardous waste containers to the 90 days accumulation area for proper storage and disposal
• 12.Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education

Other information

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, requiring 8 hours of work per day Monday thru Friday, some overtime as business needs change. Willing to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends, if necessary.
