Job summary

Lincotek is seeking a Lab Analyst – 2nd Shift to support metallographic preparation and materials testing in a manufacturing setting. You will handle sample prep, data entry, and analysis, while maintaining a clean, compliant lab environment.

The role requires the ability to read technical procedures and drawings, plus basic lab skills. This on-site position offers a steady schedule with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 4 year College degree in chemistry, engineering or relevant study
• 2 year college degree for same plus 2 years of relevant work experience
• Basic Laboratory skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for cutting, mounting, embedding and polishing for preparing metallographic samples
• Test LPCS, APS, HVOF, PACK, CVD, stripping, brazing, welding, laser drilling and shaping technologies
• Gather and enter data into Laboratory Register
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Operate cutting saws
• Interpret part cut-up drawings
• Operate optical microscopy for analyses of materials
• Multitask while performing prep-work and analysis
• Conduct testing on new consumable materials
• Manage the internal Laboratory warehouse
• Work with Engineers and other Managers on development projects
• Follow Quality and Safety System procedures
• Analyze and discuss lab results and reports
• Manage consumable supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

4 year College degree in chemistry, engineering or relevant study or 2 year college degree for same plus 2 years of relevant work experience

Position

Lab Analyst – 2nd Shift

1. Operate equipment for cutting, mounting, embedding and polishing for preparing the metallographic samples

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8 hours per day, with additional hours as business needs necessitate. Willing to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends, if necessary.

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.
