Job summary

Element Materials Technology seeks a Software Developer with strong Java development experience and working knowledge of LIMS to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of laboratory and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities include leading LIMS enhancements, designing and maintaining Java-based applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship new features, and implementing best practices for scalable, reliable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with LIMS platforms such as LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage.
• 3+ years in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong Linux/Unix and networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of LIMS enhancements backlog.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Enhancements backlog may include: business driven net new features/ functionality and automation tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with reliability and scalability in mind.
• Partner with Product Manager and Business Analyst teams to ensure voice of the customer is translated into the development outcomes.
