Job summary

Effervescent Consulting is seeking a LIMS Administrator for a State of Oklahoma public health laboratory in Oklahoma City. The role is onsite, 12-month contract with renewal option, starting March 1, 2027.

You will serve as system owner for the lab's LIMS systems (LabWare, Rees and/or Neometrix), configure, validate, troubleshoot, and support HL7 messaging and ELR feeds to the state surveillance system. Required: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and 4+ years' experience with CAP/CLIA,

• Technical skills: SQL, VB.NET, HL7, HTML/XML, LIMS Basic, and related tools.

Job description

Effervescent Consulting, a State of Oklahoma statewide IT staffing contract holder (SW1025), is hiring a LIMS Administrator for a State of Oklahoma public health laboratory in Oklahoma City. 12-month contract with option to renew, starting March 1, 2027. Onsite in Oklahoma City, 5 days a week (8 AM - 5 PM). Candidates willing to relocate are welcome.

What you'll do:

• Serve as system owner for the lab's LIMS (LabWare/Rees and/or Neometrix): configure, tune, upgrade, validate and troubleshoot.
• Implement and maintain HL7 ORU messaging: APHL/CDC PHLIP, CDC ARLN result messaging, and the HL7 ELR feed to the state's disease surveillance system.
• Maintain the lab's web test-requisition (accessioning) page and LIMS visual workflows for sample and test tracking.
• Connect laboratory instruments (IP configuration, file transfer, serial/ASTM interfaces) on the lab subnet.
• Build Crystal Reports and ad hoc SQL queries; handle installs, environment refreshes, backups and performance tracking.
• Document resolutions in line with CAP and CLIA requirements; coordinate with LIMS vendors and state IT; support HIPAA compliance.
• Develop and deliver LIMS training; support grant narratives and implementation plans (FOA/NOFO).

Required:

• Bachelor's degree (scientific field preferred).
• 4+ years of professional experience with strong knowledge of medical laboratory processes and federal lab regulations (CAP/CLIA).
• Technical skills: SQL, Visual Basic / VB.NET, JScript.NET, LIMS Basic, HTML, XML, HL7, ASTM E1381/E1394, ZPL/PCL label printing, Tomcat, FireDaemon, script parsers.

Nice to have:

LabWare certification, public health lab experience, PHLIP/ARLN/ELR experience.
