Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The Department of Physics engages students through a student-centered, research-driven curriculum, where students are actively involved in high-impact research addressing significant global issues. With a personalized approach, our program fosters the creation of new knowledge and the development of critical thinking and scientific problem-solving skills for our graduates to excel in top-tier graduate programs and the STEM workforce.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor of Physics faculty positions in the Department of Physics with a preferred start date of August 2025. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

A commitment to excellence in teaching is expected of all faculty. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching calculus- and non-calculus based introductory physics lectures, recitations, and laboratories.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

For Limited Term Instructor

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Physics or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline (Physics) is required at the time of hire.

For Limited Term Assistant Professor

  • A terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Physics or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with current evidence-based instructional practices, such as active learning.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
  • Record of past teaching at the undergraduate university level
