Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor of Interactive Design faculty positions in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design with a preferred start date of August 2025. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibility for the position will be teaching the undergraduate-level introductory TCID or IAD courses.
  • Classes may include, but are not limited to:
    • TCID 2002: Productivity and Tools
    • TCID 2170: Introduction to Digital Media and Culture
    • TCID 3400: Front-end Design I
  • The teaching load is 5 (Fall) and 5 (Spring)
  • Faculty will primarily teach courses in the face-to-face modality. Some sections may be taught hybrid or online.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications For Limited Term Instructor
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in User Experience Design, Human-Computer, Interaction Design, Digital or Computational Media, or Information Science is required at the time of hire.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
For Limited Term Assistant Professor
  • A terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in User Experience Design, Human-Computer, Interaction Design, Digital or Computational Media, or Information Science is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the principles and practices of interactive design (UX, UI)
  • Experience using learning management systems
  • Strong proficiency with both the Adobe Suite and the MS Office suite
