Job Description:

*Eligible for $5000 Sign-on Bonus*

BHMG - Occupational Medicine

Full Time - Mon - Fri, 8-hour shifts between 7a - 5:30p

Must be an LMR or Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) to be considered for this role. Duties will include Medical Assistant responsibilities.

The Medical Assistant/RT or LMR assists staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, addressing and identifying health problems. They perform selected treatments, procedures, and routine duties under the supervision of physicians and the Practice Manager/Practice Coordinator. They perform radiographic exams as required with general equipment. They function as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with training and demonstrated competencies.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with patients to determine changes in health status since the last visit, including medications, and records this information in the EMR.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness and order in the department.
  • Responsible for all records and charting related to individual cases.
  • Performs all radiographic exams as required.
  • Collects patient histories and related information, coordinating and communicating with others as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate and efficient patient flow through exam and treatment areas.
  • Prepares exam rooms by ensuring supplies and equipment are available and maintains cleanliness after each patient.
  • Assists physicians, ARNPs, and nurses with patient care, exams, tests, and procedures as designated.
  • Accurately obtains and records vital signs, reporting abnormal readings as appropriate.
  • Performs clerical duties including assembling information for patient education, assisting patients with nutrition and toileting as needed, scheduling, and obtaining insurance authorizations for medications.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:

  • Medical Assistant education or relevant experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or LMR.
  • Active ARRT certification and KROC certification within 90 days of hire.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Knowledge of radiologic procedures, digital imaging, RIS, and radiology information systems.
