Job summary

Complete Production Resources is seeking a Senior Lighting Programmer to oversee on-site lighting for corporate events, trade shows, exhibits, concerts and theatre productions. You will program consoles, coordinate with crew, and ensure all equipment is show-ready from setup through load-out.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of industry experience, proficiency with GrandMA and Hog4, and the ability to lead crews, patch consoles, and troubleshoot live shows. Weekend and night work may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using industry equipment.
  • Experience programming GrandMA and Hog4 consoles.
  • Experience leading lighting crews on site for load-ins, shows, and load-outs.
  • Familiar with creating lighting plots with Vectorworks.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and practices a plus.
  • Ability to load/unload trucks and lift heavy items daily.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma required; college education preferred with 3–5 years in entertainment production.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for set-up, programming, operation and break-down of client shows.
  • Directs tasks to lighting technicians and stagehands onsite as Crew Chief.
  • Tracks and monitors onsite equipment.
  • Programs consoles and works with Sales/Staff to produce renderings for shows.
  • Coordinates with Sales/Staff to understand all aspects of show.
  • Ensures equipment is 100% complete and show ready by prepping equipment for outbound orders.
  • Troubleshoots damaged equipment and reports to Manager on action plan.
  • Maintains a positive and supportive attitude and reports violations of company policies.

Position Description:

The job and purpose of the Senior Lighting Programmer and all CPR employees is to maintain and ensure that the established company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols are adhered to and maintained at all times. The Lighting Lead position requires technical skill, knowledge and experience working with professional lighting.

Primary responsibilities of a Lighting Lead:
  • Responsible for set-up, programming, operation and break-down of client shows, including but not limited to, corporate events, trade shows, exhibits, concerts, theatrical productions, etc.
  • Directs tasks to lighting technicians and stagehands onsite as Crew Chief.
  • Participates in tracking and monitoring onsite equipment.
  • Programs consoles and works with Sales/Staff to produce renderings for shows.
  • Coordinates with Sales/Staff to understand all aspects of show.
  • Ensures all equipment and packages are always 100% complete and show ready by assisting in prepping equipment to be scanned to outbound orders; including addressing fixtures, patching consoles and dimmers, labeling chain hoist controllers, etc.
  • Troubleshoots damaged equipment and communicates to Manager on a course of action.
  • Maintains a positive and supportive attitude at all times. Reports to Manager of any and all personnel conflicts, grievances from other staff, and any violations of company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using industry equipment. Must have experience programming and operating GrandMA and Hog4 consoles.
  • Experience in leading lighting crews on site for load-ins, shows, and load outs.
  • Must be familiar with creating lighting plots with Vectorworks.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and practices a plus.
  • Ability to load/unload trucks, overhead lifting, lifting over 50lbs, and pushing items over 100lbs on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must pass criminal background check and have reliable transportation; punctuality required.
  • High School Diploma required; college education preferred with minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the entertainment production industry.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Flex Inventory control software knowledge a plus.
