Job summary

Got Light is seeking skilled light board operators for special events, corporate events, and general sessions in the San Francisco area. This is an on-call position as an independent contractor, with roles that can require nights, late hours, and weekends.

Ideal candidates are proficient with grandMA3, have basic electrical and lighting knowledge, and can program and operate lighting setups including uplighting, LED fixtures, and DMX networks.

Qualifications

• Proficient on the grandMA3.
• Basic knowledge of electricity, power distribution, and lighting equipment.
• Installation and operation of uplighting, theatrical fixtures, LED lights, dimming/control.
• Able to work efficiently and under pressure.
• Comfortable making changes on the fly.
• Working with clients and lighting designers.
• Busking and Cueing.
• Programming of static/ambient lighting as well as concert/performance lighting.
• DMX over Ethernet (ART-NET, sACN) networking.
• Basic knowledge of circuit loads.

Responsibilities

• Operate lighting for events as an independent contractor.
• Coordinate with clients and lighting designers during setup and shows.
• Program static/ambient and concert lighting as needed.
• Setup uplights and LED fixtures, manage dimming and control.
• Adapt quickly to changing cues and timelines during events.

Got Light is looking for skilled light board operators for special events, corporate events, general sessions, product launches, and more! This is an on-call position as an independent contractor. We're looking for people who can easily jump in to assist with various events!

Desired Skills

• Proficient on the grandMA3
• Basic knowledge of electricity, power distribution, and lighting equipment
• Installation and operation of uplighting, theatrical fixtures, LED lights, dimming/control
• Able to work efficiently and under pressure

Experience

Ic Requirements

• Business License (EIN) required
• Carry $1M in liability insurance

QUALIFICATIONS | PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• General knowledge of event production or technical theater
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to work quickly under pressure, and manage chaos with ease
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
• Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working on ladders
• Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
