Union College invites applications for a Lighting/Projection work-study student in the Theatre & Dance department. The role works with Faculty Lighting Designer and staff to assist in managing, organizing, repairing instruments, and installing designs plots for productions at the Yulman Theater in Schenectady, NY.

In consultation with Lighting Design Faculty, the student may expand to programming, operating show cues, or assisting with designs.

Job description

The Lighting/Projection production work study student role will work primarily with the Faculty Lighting Designer as well as other technical faculty and staff to assist in managing, organizing, repairing instruments, and installing designs plots for productions. In conversation with the Lighting Design Faculty, for the interested student this could expand to include assisting with programming, operating show cues, or assisting with designs. Work calls will be scheduled with your supervisor, hours can be flexible, with more time needed closer to production deadlines(often between weeks 6-8 of each term). This will include work with lighting, projections, and may overlap into sound and video support. Hours may include work hours in evenings or weekends depending on production needs.

Rate of Pay: $9.70 /hr
