Job summary

IMEG Corporation's Illuminating Concepts studio in New York, NY is seeking a Lighting Project Designer to lead design and delivery of architectural lighting projects. You will own smaller projects, contribute to budgets, mentor staff, and collaborate across hospitality, mixed-use, education, and MEP environments.

You will engage in project management, proposal writing, and developing client relationships while supporting cross-functional teams to meet goals and client expectations.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Architectural Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Associates degree or BIM certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine design standards, illuminance targets, and uniformity targets based on IES recommendations.
• Select luminaire options, prepare luminaire schedules, and coordinate with luminaire and controls reps for product info and pricing.
• Create visual presentations to illustrate design concepts for client meetings using PowerPoint, Bluebeam, InDesign, Photoshop, AGI32, and other methods.
• Create luminaire layouts and perform illuminance calculations using AGI32 software.
• Design lighting layouts, basic control sensors, sequences of operations, and zone schedules in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with electrical engineering teams on circuiting, emergency lighting, and energy code documentation.
