Job summary

Hammerton, a leading American lighting designer/manufacturer, seeks a New Product Development Engineer to turn concepts into scalable, manufacturable products. You will work with prototypes, tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes on the shop floor and at a CAD workstation to develop repeatable production methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in product development, manufacturing engineering, tooling, prototyping, fabrication, or similar hands-on role.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of new product development from design concept through prototype, validation, and manufacturing release.
• Build, modify, assemble, and troubleshoot prototypes using hands-on fabrication and shop equipment.
• Translate design concepts into practical engineering solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, cost, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop 3D CAD models, production drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Design, build, and validate jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauges, and other production aids.
