Job summary

PAE Engineers' LUMA group in New York, NY is seeking a Lighting Designer I to grow design and technical skills from concept through construction. You will support documentation, using hand sketching, mock-ups, Revit, AGI32 and other tools, collaborating with project leads to translate ideas into clear lighting concepts.

You bring a college degree in lighting design or related field, strong time management, collaborative spirit, and experience with BIM and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• College degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Theatrical Lighting.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Open to constructive critique and collaboration.
• Experience with BIM and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
• Experience with photometric analysis software (AGi32) preferred.
• Experience with 3D design software (SketchUp, 3DS Max, Rhino) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop design and technical skills to grow as a lighting designer.
• Support design and production documentation conveying concepts and intent.
• Attend team meetings and translate ideas into detailed documentation.
• Contribute to design charrettes, Revit/BIM production and lighting calculations.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver accurate, buildable lighting solutions.
• Participate in project design and construction phases and professional events.
