Job summary

Light vs. Light, a growing lighting design practice in midtown Manhattan, seeks a candidate with 2+ years of architectural lighting design experience.

You’ll design, develop, manage, and document diverse projects, support design processes with imagery and research, and present concepts to clients through renderings. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office, familiarity with AGI32, and a basic understanding of architectural practices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience.

Exciting opportunity to work at a growing, young lighting design practice in a perimeter studio at a class A building in midtown. Individuals with a strong work ethic will have the opportunity to be rewarded for their efforts, and the ideal candidate will have that desire.

Responsibilities:

• You will take part in designing, developing, managing, and documenting a variety of project types
• Support the firm project design process with design solutions, project imagery, research, and documentation
• Effectively convey conceptual design solutions to clients and colleagues through graphic design renderings.

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to work well both individually and in collaborative studio environments
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be proficient in communication of design ideas through graphic renderings.

Required

• At least 2 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience. Please include a resume and portfolio along with your application.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, familiarity with AGI32 (or other lighting simulation software).
• Basic understanding of architectural practices and design protocols and methods.

Recommended:

• Lighting Certified (LC) and/or IALD Membership.
• LEED Certified or have a basic understanding of green design methods.

Location:

• The candidate must be able to commute to New York, NY.
• Remote working schedules will be evaluated on an individual basis.
