Job summary

Summit Electric Supply in Irving, TX is seeking a Lighting Controls Specialist to support the Lighting Controls Department and grow lighting controls sales. The role designs IECC code compliant lighting control packages and prepares documentation for bidding.

You will collaborate with outside sales and electrical contractors, produce take-offs and designs from construction documents, and help coordinate controls systems through delivery, startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Theatrical Production or equivalent technical experience.
• Familiarity with control theory.
• Ability to read construction documents.
• Understanding of basic electrical distribution within buildings.
• Computer skills: AutoCAD LT, BlueBeam, Outlook, Excel and Word; ability to learn proprietary configuration software.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design code compliant lighting control packages.
• Support outside sales and electrical contractors on lighting control packages.
• Support project management teams with lighting control packages.
• Troubleshooting of installed systems and basic field service as required.
• Assist in product selection and design of basic diagrams and contract documents.
• Serve as a technical resource to internal staff and customers.
