Job summary

QVC Group, Inc. is seeking an On-Call Lighting Assistant to support QVC & HSN.

The role is on-site at West Chester, PA, with duties ranging from lighting checks and maintenance to programming consoles and supporting remote broadcasts. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in TV broadcasting/theatrical lighting/film and 1+ years of lighting design or engineering experience, plus trouble-shooting abilities with DMX and dimming systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in TV Broadcasting, Theatrical Lighting, and/or Film.
• 1+ years of Lighting; Design, Technical or Engineering experience.
• Experience trouble-shooting lighting equipment and systems.
• Experience with entertainment lighting dimming systems, Ethernet and DMX control systems/protocol, intelligent lighting and installation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled checks of set lighting and gel condition.
• Perform preventative maintenance on lighting systems and equipment.
• Support Remote Broadcast lighting, including on-site work and truck prep.
• Program lighting consoles and understand console operations.
• Hang and focus additional lighting for new positions or shows.
• Track times, movement, and installation of lighting equipment; keep area clean and safe.

Under the direction of the Manager of Broadcast Lighting, On Call Lighting Assistants support the efforts of the entire Lighting team to enhance the lighting of every studio and remote broadcast for QVC and HSN.You will perform daily technical and design maintenance under the supervision and guidance of the Lighting Designer & Lighting Engineer. You will also react quickly to critical situations that occur in live broadcast, and support any other lighting activities including live productions, streaming productions and remote productions. **Where You'll Work**This role is **onsite** and will require you to work from our West Chester, PA location. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. **What You'll Do*** Perform scheduled and unscheduled checks of set lighting to ensure that all fixtures and gel are in good working condition and focused correctly.* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on lighting systems and equipment.* Support the execution of Remote Broadcast lighting. This includes possible work on-site, as well as equipment prep and truck loading & unloading.* Program the lighting consoles as necessary.
