Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is seeking a Light Manufacturing and Carpentry Associate for the second shift, 3:00PM to 11:30PM EST. Responsibilities include delivering results, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, and operating machinery safely.

Job Title

Light Manufacturing and Carpentry Associate - 2nd Shift

Shift

Second Shift – 3:00PM to 11:30PM EST

Responsibilities
  • Deliver results and provide an optimal customer experience.
  • Identify non‑conformities, keep the warehouse clean and organized, adhere to 5S principles, and follow all safety procedures.
  • Maintain flexibility to support shifting production needs, including helping in different areas of the warehouse when required to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other machinery; maintain a valid Forklift Operator’s license; change batteries and propane tanks as needed.
  • Build boxes for loose parts and structures for warehouse, prepare packaging, resolve discrepancies, and operate all machinery used in the Woodshop.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic presses, utilize hydraulic hose crimping equipment, run hoist/crane systems, and accurately cut hoses and install fittings as required.
  • Interpret blueprints and instructions, measure materials, and follow packaging codes for accurate construction and assembly.
  • Achieve productivity requirements while maintaining accuracy and quality by demonstrating problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and critical thinking skills.
  • Safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with warehouse policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Previous carpentry, mechanical, and packaging experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Ability to manage high‑volume inventory and consistently meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Comfortable using technology (RF devices, handheld and flat‑screen computers, etc.).
  • Experience with Sit Down, Stand Up, Reach, and Order Selector equipment—or willingness to learn.
Physical Demands

Lift up to 50lbs and perform repetitive movements for extended periods. Reliable vision (with corrective lenses if needed). Ability to use power tools with a full range of motion as needed (various tasks). Comfortable rotating through multiple work areas.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
