Job summary

Worley is hiring for a Light & Heavy Duty Shop Oiler in Prudhoe Bay, AK on a three weeks on/three weeks off rotation. The role covers preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment used in North Slope operations, with meals and lodging provided on location.

You will coordinate parts and tools, maintain records, and support safe operations. A valid driver's license and NSTC certification (if needed) are required, with NSTC training available

Qualifications

  • One (1) year as a light-duty oiler or heavy-duty oiler or a related trade.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) certification available through Worley if needed.
  • Preferred: experience on remote North Slope operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspection and servicing of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate procurement of equipment, tools, parts and consumables based on project schedules.
  • Arrange shipment from stock or suppliers to jobsites.
  • Provide technical information to job sites and support for repairs.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and other teams to meet project objectives.

Description

This is a remote/ rotational position, working three weeks on/ three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for performing preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspection, and servicing of both light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty trucks and equipment used in North Slope operations. This rotational position supports safe and reliable fleet operations through preventive maintenance, inspections, documentation, and coordination of equipment repairs.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for performing equipment and parts functions. Is responsible for the evaluation and requisitioning of equipment, tools, parts, and consumables. Coordinates these needs based on project schedules, to prevent or eliminate conflicts in scheduling or other potential delays.

Reviews requirements of projects for equipment, tools, parts, and consumables.

Arranges for shipment from stock, from other projects, or from suppliers and delivery to jobsites.

Supports assigned contracts for the supply of either spare or repair parts.

Provides technical assistance to the customer to insure acquisition of proper equipment, tools and parts.

Supplies any technical information necessary for operation or maintenance to the job site.

Gathers historical and/or financial information as necessary to prepare proposals for any other studies required in the overall operation of equipment, tools, and parts.

Coordinates efforts with other groups to ensure completion of the overall objectives.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of light and heavy duty vehicle preventative maintenance.

Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of light and heavy duty vehicles.

Ability to maintain preventative maintenance records.

Ability to prioritize the preventative maintenance workload.

Ability to work closely with mechanics.

Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.

Ability to use hand and power tools.

Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs.

Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.

Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:


Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

Standing for prolonged periods of time.

Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

One (1) year as a light-duty oiler or heavy-duty oiler or an equipment related trade school degree.

Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

North Slope Training Cooperative. Worley can provide NSTC certification if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with remote North Slope operations.
