Summary

Maintains and repairs Streets/Storm Water drainage structures in the City of Lancaster by performing the following duties:

  • Operation of equipment to restore all storm water drainage structures.
  • Work with storm water department on assignments and special projects, including the use of heavy equipment to clean drainage pipes, ditches, channels, easements, flumes, under bridges, and creeks within the roadway and right-of-ways.
  • Operate mowers and equipment to trim trees, bushes, and other vegetation to ensure proper drainage inside City-owned right-of-ways and other drainage structures.
  • Assist Streets department with repairs to roads using asphalt and concrete, hauling excavated materials such as dirt, rock, concrete, and debris.
  • Use concrete to repair, maintain, and replace storm water drainage headwalls, flumes, spillways, and approach/departure slabs on culverts.
  • Use heavy equipment, hand tools, shovels, rakes, etc., to clean and clear the job site after work completion.
  • Responsible for safe operation of City of Lancaster vehicles and equipment for approved work-related transportation.
Additional Information

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid State Class A (CDL) Driver's License.
