Job summary

Skymark Companies is seeking an Assembly Technician to install components on light and heavy-duty chassis in Kansas City, MO. You will read schematics, assemble and align parts, and install electrical systems, ensuring conformance to specifications and company standards.

The role requires two years of mechanical experience, a high school diploma, and ability to work on-site with lifting and use of hoists or cranes. Safety and teamwork are essential in a dynamic shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Two years of mechanical/heavy equipment experience with the use of mechanic tools.
• Experience with electrical systems (12V and 24V).

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform fitting, assembly, installation, and alignment of components to operating requirements.
• Follow build orders and change orders with efficiency and accuracy.
• Build units consistent with company standards.
• Read and interpret schematics to determine sequence, tooling requirements and tolerances.
• Install 12V/24V electrical systems.
• Install special components for the truck design.
• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications.
• Position and tighten components into position.
• Move parts into position manually or with hoist or crane.
• Document work performed.
• Maintain shop and personal tooling.
• Keep the shop area clean and ensure trucks/equipment are neat.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
