A leading municipal organization in Anchorage seeks a qualified Equipment Technician. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles while ensuring safety and efficiency. Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical maintenance with relevant experience and certificates. A valid Alaska Driver's License is mandatory for this position.
This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers - Technicians (IBEW-T), Local 1547, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

The Equipment Technician inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, maintains, and repairs heavy equipment, hybrid (high voltage), and standard light-duty vehicles. Responsibilities include welding, fabricating, mounting, using diagnostic tools, performing preventive maintenance, DOT brake inspections, tire maintenance, chassis 'shakedowns,' emissions testing, and operating various hand and power tools. Ensures quality and efficiency of work, documents via maintenance software, and maintains a safe work environment.
