Job description

Job Summary:
The Light Duty Diesel Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & Ram vehicles equipped with Cummins 6.7 and EcoDiesel 3.0 engines at White's Auto Mall in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. This is a full-time position within the automotive industry. The individual in this role should have a high level of technical knowledge and expertise in diesel vehicles as well as gasoline engines.

  • Competitive pay. Earn up to $42.00 per flat rate hour.

Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, maintenance and diagnostic services on gas and diesel vehicles.
- Perform complex diagnostic tests using specialized equipment to determine vehicle issues and make necessary repairs
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, and electrical systems in diesel vehicles
- Inspect and test vehicles to ensure they meet safety and emission standards
- Utilize computerized systems to document and track repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to provide excellent customer service and efficient repair processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel technician, preferably with Ram and Cummins vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerized systems
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must have own tools and a toolbox
- Knowledge of and adherence to all safety protocols and regulations
