Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, is hiring for a 2nd shift forklift operator. You will perform pre-operational safety checks, operate the lift truck, recharge/refuel as needed, unload goods, and use the RF scanner to follow on-board instructions accurately.

Required: high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 80 pounds, fluent English, and completion of safety trainings. Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Reads and writes in standard English; performs basic math calculations.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds frequently during shift.
• Successful completion of required on-the-job training and safety training.

• Recharge the lift truck battery or refuel as needed.
• Unload goods from storage areas, trailers, or bin locations.

• Manually load/unload materials not designed for forks or poles.
• Participate in all required training and cross-training as needed.
• Other tasks assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational safety checks and complete a vehicle inspection report before operating equipment.
• Recharge the lift truck battery or replace/refuel the gas tank.
• Unload goods from storage areas, bin locations, or trailers.
• Understand and follow instructions given by the onboard RF unit. Correctly operate the hand-held scanning device.
• Manually load/unload pad or other material not designed to be handled by forks or pole.
• Must be receptive to all training related to the lift truck operator position or any cross training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Any other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Successful completion of all required on the job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• Ability to lift 80 pounds frequently during shift.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.
