Job summary

Thompson Lift Truck is seeking a Field Technician to service and repair lift equipment, including internal combustion and electric forklifts, diesel engines, and allied products. The role involves both independent and team work, with extensive on-the-job training and OSHA/MSHA instruction.

The technician will perform basic component work on engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems, and will maintain safety and service records while providing strong customer service in the field.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical training/education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Performs tasks on engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove/install, disassemble/reassemble, and minor adjustments.
• Performs preventive maintenance service according to factory guidelines.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Works in field service as required.
• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Works independently in the field as required.
