Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company is seeking a Lift Truck Field Technician to service and repair internal combustion and electric forklift trucks, diesel engines, and allied products. You will perform engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical tasks, in shop and on customer sites, with extensive on-job training and OSHA/MSHA required training.

The role requires one year of mechanical repair experience, basic computing skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Technical training/education preferred.
• Minimum of one year of mechanical repair experience or equivalent technical education required.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Orders and return parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Performs tasks on basic components including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments.
• Performs preventive maintenance per factory guidelines.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Works in field service as needed.
