Alterra Mountain Company’s Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Lift Evacuation Specialist for a Seasonal Full-Time role. This non‑supervisory position trains lift evacuations and maintains rescue equipment, reporting to Patrol management.

The role is part of the Solitude Ski Patrol Union. The specialist will coordinate training, document lift evacuation activities, and manage orders for ropes and gear while maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be employed as a Solitude Mountain Patroller.
• Expert knowledge of lift evacuation techniques and rescues on all lifts.
• Ability to teach lift evacuation techniques to patrol.
• Maintain organized records of lift evacuation equipment and training.
• Knowledge of NSAA Lift Evacuation Guide and ANSI requirements.
• Ski Patrol Level 1 or above.
• Non-supervisory role reporting to Patrol leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lift evacuation training for ski patrol and conduct refresher sessions with management.
• Document all lift evacuation and tower climber training for staff.
• Research and implement new lift evacuation techniques and equipment.
• Prepare and order rescue ropes and specialized equipment; track usage and purchases.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory log of lift evacuation gear.
• Communicate replacement needs and retirement schedules for budgeting.
