Job summary

KTUL-TV, Tulsa, OK, seeks a full-time Host/Producer for our live weekday morning lifestyle program. You will host, produce daily content and line-produce, conducting live and taped interviews and going live in the field.

You'll create segments for online and social platforms, write teases, and collaborate with sales to deliver engaging stories under tight deadlines. A journalism background and 2+ years on-air hosting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field.
• Minimum 2 years on-air hosting experience on a Lifestyle Show.
• Experience with live shots and field production.
• Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work professionally in a team and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily show prep and content generation.
• Conduct live and taped interviews in studio and on location.
• Book guests and write teases for segments.
• Participate in pre- and post-show meetings.
• Produce sales segments in the rundown (live and pre-taped).
• Create and order graphics for paid and unpaid segments.
• Schedule sales clients for in-studio interviews and shoots.
• Write and deliver interviews and stories clearly.
• Write and shoot daily shows and segments.
• Generate editorial content to enhance the Lifestyle brand.
• Coordinate with sales/marketing on guest segments and reports.
• Drive social media engagement on Facebook, Instagram, etc.
• Coach and motivate guests with strong people skills.
• Work with Executive Producer on other duties.

Job description

KTUL-TV has an immediate opening for a dynamic, energetic, and experienced full-time Host/Producer on our live weekday morning lifestyle program. In this position, you will be working on day-to-day production which includes hosting,producing daily content and line producing. The ideal host will conduct live and taped paid and non-paid interviews, segments and packages, and go live in the field. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites, in addition to the live broadcast.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with daily show preparation and content generation
• Ability to conduct live and taped interviews in studio and in the field
• Assist with booking guests and writing teases
• Participates in pre and post-show meetings
• Produce sales segments (live and pre-taped) in rundown
• Create and order graphics for paid/non-paid segments
• Call and schedule sales clients for in studio interviews and shoots
• Write and deliver interviews and stories in a clear and concise manner
• All other duties as directed by management
• Create and write/ shoot and edit daily shows and segments

• Generate editorial content that enhances the Lifestyle brand and takes the show to the next level

• Work alongside sales/marketing associates to line up guest segments and complete weekly sponsored content reports

• Drive social media engagement with a strong presence on Facebook, Instagram, etc.

• Have great people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating our guests

• Other responsibilities as directed by Executive Producer

Additionally, this person should have…

• A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• A minimum of 2 years of on-air hosting experience on a Lifestyle Show or equivalent
• Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills
• Must work professionally and collaboratively and help foster a team environment with co-workers
• Professional interaction and collaboration with clients and guests is required
• The ability to carry out sales segments as assigned
• Sharp judgment
• Excellent technical skills
• The ability to work well independently
• Experience with live shots is required
• Experience with Live-U is a plus
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment
• The ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
