Job Overview

FirstService Residential is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lifestyle Manager to lead lifestyle programming, resident engagement, and amenity operations for an active adult onsite community. This role is responsible for creating a vibrant community experience through innovative programming, events, and wellness initiatives that foster connection, enrichment, and an exceptional resident experience.

The Lifestyle Manager serves as a key member of the onsite leadership team and works closely with the General Manager, Board of Directors, committees, residents, and vendors to ensure the successful planning and execution of community lifestyle programs and services.

Compensation

$75K-90K/Yr

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lifestyle Programming & Resident Engagement
    • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive annual lifestyle and wellness calendar tailored to an active adult community.
    • Plan and execute social, recreational, educational, and wellness programs that promote engagement and community connection.
    • Coordinate and oversee both small-scale and large community events and signature programs.
    • Evaluate resident participation and feedback to continuously improve offerings.
    • Support resident clubs, volunteer groups, and committees.
    • Attend Board and committee meetings as needed to present updates and recommendations.
  • Communications & Marketing
    • Oversee creation and distribution of newsletters, e-blasts, flyers, and promotional materials.
    • Maintain and update the community website, digital signage, and lifestyle calendar.
    • Ensure timely promotion of events and programs across multiple communication platforms.
    • Partner with onsite leadership and committees to enhance community branding and engagement.
  • Staff & Vendor Leadership
    • Supervise, coach, and develop lifestyle and amenities staff (2–5 team members).
    • Participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
    • Coordinate instructors, entertainers, and third‑party vendors.
    • Ensure vendors meet insurance, contractual, and community standards.
    • Review vendor invoices and monitor service quality.
  • Amenities & Facility Operations
    • Oversee scheduling and use of community amenities including clubhouse, fitness areas, and multipurpose rooms.
    • Coordinate room reservations, event setup, and breakdown with maintenance and operations teams.
    • Ensure compliance with facility use policies and safety procedures.
    • Monitor facility conditions and communicate maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Budget & Administrative Oversight
    • Prepare and manage the annual lifestyle and activities budget.
    • Monitor expenses and ensure programs operate within approved budgets.
    • Track participation data and prepare management and Board reports.
    • Maintain accurate program documentation, contracts, and vendor records.
    • Support the General Manager with administrative and operational initiatives.
  • Risk Management & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, insurance requirements, and community policies.
    • Obtain required permits, waivers, and documentation for programs and events.
    • Promote safe operations during all events and activities.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent event planning and project management skills.
  • Budget management and financial tracking experience.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva (or similar design software) required for creation of newsletters, event flyers, and digital communications.
  • Experience with websites, e-blasts, newsletters, and community communication platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality, Recreation Management, Communications, Event Planning, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in lifestyle programming, community management, hospitality, or event management.
  • Experience working in active adult or HOA community environments strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
