Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and promote a dynamic Activities Program that encourages resident participation, socialization, and overall well-being.
  • Plan a diverse calendar of social, cultural, educational, fitness, and recreational activities for independent, active adults.
  • Prepare monthly community activity calendar and newsletter.
  • Develop and implement a volunteer program for resident activities.
  • Coordinate with caterers, entertainers, decorators and others for scheduled events.
  • Organize and host on-site events, outings, and excursions; act as chaperone when needed.
  • Foster a welcoming environment that encourages resident-led clubs, groups, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support community events and prospective resident experiences.
  • Participate in tours, open houses, and leasing events when needed.
  • Plan and coordinate seasonal décor and special event decorations to enhance the community environment.
  • Manage programming within an approved budget.
  • Lead during inclement weather and emergency protocols as essential leadership personnel.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty during assigned weekends.
  • Work weekends to support and participate in scheduled events and activities.
  • Drive residents to activities or outings and chaperone during these events.
  • Help residents off-site with lifting items and shopping needs; ensure safety.
  • Maintain professional appearance and interactions with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Perform any other tasks as deemed by management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 25 years of age, or older

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all background screening requirements permitted by applicable federal, state, and local law.

  • Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.

  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Must demonstrate professionalism, empathy, patience, and effective interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some college preferred.

  • Experience working with seniors is preferred.

  • Over two years, up to and including four years in recreational therapy preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, transferring, and assisting residents as required by the position.

  • Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress.

  • Must be able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
