How You Will Make a Difference
- Plan and implement resident activities according to the needs of residents
- Maintain the monthly activity calendar and assist the Marketing Director with the community newsletter
- Coordinate resident transportation for activities, shopping, and doctor trips
- Assist with new move‑ins and perform new resident orientation
- Establish and coordinate the Community Resident Council and attend all meetings
- Supervise and operate the community's store
- Listen and respond to all resident problems, complaints, suggestions, and ideas regarding activities
- Coordinate use of all volunteers
- Document the community history with photographs and scrapbooks
- Operate activities within budget
- Serve as MOD as assigned and perform other duties as assigned by the management team
What We Are Looking For
- 1 year of work experience in the senior housing industry or event planning preferred
- Degree or certification in gerontological studies, recreation, or a related program
- Affinity toward senior adults
- Organization and customer service skills
- Great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English
- Must possess or be willing to acquire a valid driver’s license and Commercial Driver’s License where necessary
- Required to work some evenings and weekends for special events
