Job summary

Dial in Omaha, NE is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to join our activity team. You will plan and lead diverse resident activities across physical, social, and educational categories, fostering engagement and fun.

You will document daily participation, coordinate outings, decorate for events, and support media content creation. Flexibility to work Tue-Sat and holidays is required, with opportunities to contribute to memory care activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience in activities, recreation, or senior living.
  • Preferred: valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Experience with memory care or dementia is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and lead activities across physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering, and special requests.
  • Lead group activities and encourage resident participation.
  • Document daily engagement in LifeLoop and observe engagement trends.
  • Coordinate outings, events, and celebrations; serve as chaperone as needed.
  • Tailor activities to each resident’s preferences and interests.
  • Assist with decoration of the facility for events and holidays.
  • Invite residents to participate and help them get to activities.
  • Support social media content creation for the community.
  • Drive the company vehicle for activities and appointments when required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experiences.
  • Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
  • Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor by end of shift.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and operations information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

This position works with the lifestyle team to create unique resident experiences that promote a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging community.

  • Assist with planning, implementing, and leading activities in the following categories: physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering, and special requests of the residents.
  • Lead group activities while encouraging resident participation and building positive relationships.
  • Document resident engagement each day in LifeLoop, tracking the data to observe engagement trends.
  • Help coordinate community outings, events, and special celebrations, while assisting as a chaperone.
  • Become acquainted with each resident and their activity preferences and promote activities in a way that piques residents’ interests.
  • Assist with decoration of the facility for special events, seasons, and holidays.
  • Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities, assisting them to and from activities.
  • Support social media content creation and posting for the community.
  • Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experiences.
  • Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
  • Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, community operations and personnel.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and stand for extended periods
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in activities, recreation, or senior living
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Experience working with memory care or seniors with dementia
