Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to help plan and lead diverse resident activities, foster engagement, and coordinate community events. The role involves mobility support, teamwork, and assisting residents with daily participation in a vibrant community.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be 18+, and demonstrate organizational and communication skills. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and stand for extended periods.
  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, implementing, and leading activities in physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering, and special requests of residents.
  • Lead group activities while encouraging resident participation and building positive relationships.
  • Document resident engagement daily in LifeLoop, tracking engagement trends.
  • Coordinate community outings, events, and special celebrations, while acting as a chaperone.
  • Know each resident and promote activities aligned with their interests.
  • Decorate the facility for events and holidays.
  • Invite/remind residents to participate and assist them to activities.
  • Support social media content creation and posting for the community.
  • Drive the company vehicle for activities and appointments as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experiences.
  • Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
  • Report injuries to supervisor before end of shift.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and operations information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

This position works with the lifestyle team to create unique resident experiences that promote a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging community.

  • Assist with planning, implementing, and leading activities in the following categories: physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering, and special requests of the residents.
  • Lead group activities while encouraging resident participation and building positive relationships.
  • Document resident engagement each day in LifeLoop, tracking the data to observe engagement trends.
  • Help coordinate community outings, events, and special celebrations, while assisting as a chaperone.
  • Become acquainted with each resident and their activity preferences and promote activities in a way that piques residents’ interests.
  • Assist with decoration of the facility for special events, seasons, and holidays.
  • Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities, assisting them to and from activities.
  • Support social media content creation and posting for the community.
  • Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experiences.
  • Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
  • Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, community operations and personnel.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in activities, recreation, or senior living
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Experience working with memory care or seniors with dementia
