Job summary

LifeBook Memoirs seeks an interviewer to guide authors in telling their life stories in a structured, engaging way. You will conduct interviews in the author’s home across 14 sessions over seven months, with sessions recorded for the ghostwriter.

You’ll prepare for each session, coordinate with the team, and upload audio files and scanned amendments. The role requires confidentiality, empathy, and strong listening skills.

Qualifications

• Living within approximately 10 miles or 30 minutes’ travel time of the author.
• Strong listening and verbal communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, non-judgmental attitude, and open manner.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn recording machines, scanners, and uploading files.

Responsibilities

• Guide the author to tell their story in a logical, methodical manner.
• Conduct 14 interviews over seven months (home visits by the interviewer).
• Prepare for sessions and communicate with the team.
• Upload audio recordings and scan amendments for the ghostwriter after sessions.
