Indiana University Health in the Indianapolis area seeks a full-time EMS professional to cover ground Critical Care Transfers from the Mt Comfort base (Greenfield, IN). The role may also support BLS staffing for Indianapolis as needed.

You will respond in emergency medical vehicles, provide immediate basic life support, CPR and AED, and ensure patient transport to hospital while maintaining patient care standards and safety policies.

Qualifikationen

• Indiana EMT certification required or must be nationally certified and able to obtain Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start.
• Valid driver’s license with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review may be required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Responds in an emergency medical vehicle to scenes of reported emergencies, nonemergencies and interhospital transports.
• Provides basic life support care to the patient at the scene and enroute to the hospital.

Based out of the Mt Comfort base (Greenfield, IN) this float position will cover all ground Critical Care Transfers and may be deployed to provide ground coverage for air bases as needed for operations. The role may also be flexed to provide staffing Basic Life Support (BLS) for Indianapolis based on operational needs.

Overview

Full Time / 3, 12 hour scheduled shifts
Based out of the Mt Comfort base (Greenfield, IN) this float position will cover all ground Critical Care Transfers and may be deployed to provide ground coverage for air bases as needed for operations. The role may also be flexed to provide staffing Basic Life Support (BLS) for Indianapolis based on operational needs.
Responds in an emergency medical vehicle to the scene of reported emergencies, nonemergencies and interhospital transports. Provides efficient and immediate basic life support care to the patient at the scene and enroute to and in the hospital. Performs non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. Performs specialized life sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service. Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of the critically ill or injured.
A valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record report may be required for this role. Consideration of employment for this role may be contingent upon the results of the Motor Vehicle Record report.
Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.

• Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires Indiana State drivers license.
