Job summary

Valley Health System in Mahwah, NJ is seeking a lifeguard to supervise aquatic activities at the Lifestyles Fitness Center. You will ensure a safe environment, support water safety, and assist members with fitness and recreation goals during day shifts.

The role requires current lifeguard certification, BLS, and First Aid; WSI preferred. Prior lifeguard experience is welcome, and the position supports a health-focused community facility.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or the equivalent.
• Previous lifeguarding experience preferred.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification required. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS). Current Red Cross Standard First Aid or equivalent required. Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, sanitary environment that encourages members to use the Lifestyles facility for fitness, relaxation and recreation and to improve individual swimming and water safety skills.
