Principal Responsibilities:

Position Title: Lifeguard

Accountable to: Pool Operator and Swim Gym Technical Director

Qualifications: Must possess the following valid certifications: CPR, First Aid, L.G., WSI (A Plus)

Primary Objectives: To guard the safety of our patrons, maintain a clean and safe facility, and promote a safe and friendly environment.

Hours:

8:30 - 3:30 Monday- Friday; Weekend shifts available

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in applying lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Record chemicals (numbers in the computer and results from the test kit), check balancing tank (water level), check pallets, and refill as necessary. Lifeguards on duty for open and closure.
• Maintain a clean environment: clean gutters, brush walls, skim surface, clean tiles, vacuum pool bottom, perform backwash, sweep debris, hose down, pressure wash.
• Assist swim teachers with equipment.
• Keep accurate attendance logs.
• Complete daily task lists and attend required training and meetings.
• Keep certifications up to date (L.G., CPR, First Aid, WSI).
• Follow scheduled hours and read the Master schedule.
• Outdoor stand umbrellas must be closed when leaving or during strong winds.
• Work in a friendly environment, maintaining positive relationships.

Salary:

$25,000 - $35,000
