YMCA of Central Florida is hiring Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for the Downtown YMCA. The role supports safe pool operations and delivers water safety instruction while engaging members in YMCA programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Current Lifeguard or Swim Instructor certification required by Hire Date.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required by Hire Date.
• Current Oxygen Administration certification required by Hire Date.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area using scanning techniques to ensure safety.
• Know and review emergency procedures and respond immediately per YMCA policies.
• Know and apply safety rules for pool and aquatic areas.
• Greet and build relationships with members and staff.
• Inform members about aquatic programs and engage new members.
• Ensure cleanliness of pool decks and aquatic areas and check for hazards.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Promote the YMCA mission and values in the Family Center and programs.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Adhere to child abuse risk management responsibilities.
