Job summary

The Y in Onalaska, Wisconsin is seeking part-time lifeguards and swim instructors for the Houser branch to ensure a safe, welcoming pool environment and high-quality programming for members and participants.

Ideal candidates are 15+ years old, may hold lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications, and should enjoy working with people of all ages. Flexible hours and YMCA member benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Certification required for lifeguards.
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer required for lifeguards.
• Must enjoy working with children and adults of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Actively scan the pool deck and maintain a safe pool environment.
• Enforce all YMCA pool rules.
• Respond to pool emergencies and perform first aid while on duty.
• Teach swimming lessons to YMCA standards.
• Communicate with supervisors, staff, members, and guests clearly and positively.
