Under general direction, the Lifeguard/Swim Instructor oversees activities at the City's aquatics facility, including open swim, instructional classes, pool rentals, and use of the pool facility by other City programs. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, rescuing distressed swimmers, administering first aid, and supervising aquatics classes. The role follows established policies, procedures, and work methods, performing other related duties as required.
The Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is a part-time, at-will, specialist responsible for ensuring the safety of participants and spectators at the City's aquatics facility. The position may require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and daytime hours to support public use. Dependability and punctuality are essential. This role differs from the Head Lifeguard, who acts in a lead capacity.
