Job summary

Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking a lifeguard and swim assistant for Community Education swim programs. Duties include supervising swimmers during open and lap swims, assisting head instructors in classes, and maintaining pool safety.

Responsibilities also cover operating handicap chair and lift, responding to emergencies with first aid, and enforcing pool rules. This position is offered through EduStaff with state fingerprint requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Red Cross lifeguard, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
• Experience working with swimmers, parents, instructors and staff preferred.
• Lifeguard or swim assistant experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with swimmers, parents, instructors, and other swim staff members
• Ability to handle handicap chair, lift and rescue equipment
• Experience as lifeguard or swim assistant preferred but not required

Working Condition:

$12.50/hour- more dependent on experience. Add'l $1.00/hr with WSI; Hours vary

Candidates hired for this position will be employed through EduStaff, the educational staffing partner of the Grosse Pointe Public Schools, and will be required to complete a separate Edustaff application and orientation once an employment offer is received.
