Job summary

A community management company located in New York is hiring a Lifeguard Supervisor responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons, supervising aquatic programs, and leading staff. The ideal candidate will have First Aid and CPR certifications, 3-5 years of lifeguard experience, and the ability to teach swimming lessons. Responsibilities

• Ensure operational and safety procedures are properly followed.
• Establish the schedule and plan daily work assignments.
• Open and close the pool each day.
• Demonstrate leadership and training to staff.
• Monitor pool-related activities closely during shifts.
• Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify safety issues.
• Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions.
• Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests.
• Organize and oversee pool parties.
• Provide swimming lessons and swim team coaching when available.
• Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool.
• Aid patrons when appropriate or necessary.

The lifeguard supervisor position ensures the safety of pool patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Opens the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours.
• Inspects and approves staff work performance.
• Demonstrates leadership and training to staff.
• Communicates effectively with staff.
• Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues.
• Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions.
• Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of guests.
• Organize and oversee pool parties.
• Provide swimming lessons and swim team coaching when available.
• Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool.
• Aid patrons when appropriate or necessary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Wingspan Needed!

• First Aid and CPR certifications
• Ability to pass pre-employment practical skills test in the water
• 3-5 years of experience teaching swim lessons or coaching swim team highly desirable.
• 3-5 years lifeguard experience.
• Must work summer holidays and weekends

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The lifeguard supervisor performs their work at the pool. This position is performed in outdoor weather conditions.
• Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually during working hours; is subject to lifting over 50 pounds.
