Under general supervision, the Lifeguard is responsible for protecting the safety and well-being of patrons using the City of San Antonio Aquatic Facilities. Responsibilities include supervising, disciplining, and providing customer service to all persons using deep or shallow water pool facilities.

Eligible Hiring Incentive: up to $500 (in 3 increments) & $75 swimsuit reimbursement.

This is an "unclassified" position with no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. It is subject to at-will employment and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Work Location: The position may be assigned to any of the twenty-four (24) City outdoor pools. Work location and schedule may change at the Department's discretion. Click here for a map of all available pool locations.

Work Hours: Shifts vary during pool operating hours (7:15 a.m. - 8:15 p.m., Monday - Sunday). Shifts may also vary during Lifeguard training, special events, and Aquatics programs.
