Job description

Join to apply for the Lifeguard (Summer 2025/Seasonal) role at Town of Bloomfield.

The Town of Bloomfield is hiring Lifeguards for a non-benefited, part-time seasonal position in the Leisure Services Department for the 9-week summer program of 2025.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years old and possess an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED training, or be able to obtain these certifications by the start of the season. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred.

Selection Process: The Human Resources Department will notify applicants by mail if they have been granted an interview. Applicants must contact the HR office at 860-769-3544 to schedule an interview.

Supplemental Information: The success of the 9-week summer program depends on staff commitment, dedication, and full summer availability. Full week vacations are not permitted. Two consecutive days off may be granted with supervisor approval. Consideration will be given to students needing to end employment early for fall semester.

Required: Availability during the full summer period.

Preferred: Lifeguard certification and related qualifications.
