The Town of Surfside is seeking a seasonal Lifeguard to supervise swimming areas, ensuring safety and emergency response. This position involves monitoring swimmers, enforcing rules, and providing first aid. The ideal candidate will have necessary lifeguard certifications and a commitment to maintaining safety standards in aquatic environments.

Under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Aquatic Supervisor, responsible for preventing, recognizing, and responding to emergencies at the Town’s pool, beach, and related recreational activities. Provides care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrives and takes over.
Responsibilities include:
The successful candidate must possess the following certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the professional Rescuer or equivalent, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Additional certifications such as Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Lifeguard Instructor, and Water Safety Instructor are desirable.
This position is open until filled. Hourly rate: $15.90 - $20.25, DOQ/E.
