Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs Of Boston is hiring a Lifeguard to maintain a safe pool environment and enforce rules. You will prevent incidents, perform rescues, and administer first aid or CPR as needed while supporting swim lessons and camper supervision.

The position reports to the Aquatics Program Manager; start date is October 2026, with a salary of $22–$27 per hour and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Benefits include paid LG certification/recertification where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Experience as a Lifeguard.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of youth development principles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
• LGI/WSI/CPO certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Experience supervising or supporting other guards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and enforce pool rules.
• Observe swimmers to prevent accidents and ensure safety.
• Perform rescues and administer first aid/CPR as needed.
• Assist with pool maintenance and equipment.
• Support development of swim lessons and supervise campers.
• Communicate safety practices clearly to staff and members.
