Job summary

City of Ann Arbor is seeking lifeguards to maintain swimmer safety, monitor water conditions and guest behavior, enforcing safety rules and delivering excellent customer service. Lifeguards are supervised by the Recreation Supervisor and participate in ongoing training through the pool season.

Starting hourly rate is $17.35. Employees may receive up to $200 reimbursement for Lifeguard certification after working 200 hours.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Be a capable swimmer and competent in lifesaving methods.
• Must possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification by start of employment.
• Minimum age of 15 years (work permit for minors under 18).

Responsibilities

• Maintain swimmer safety and monitor water conditions.
