Job Title: PT Lifeguard

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is seeking a part-time Lifeguard for our Sand Springs Red Shield Youth Center, located in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Job Summary:

1. Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of lifesaving techniques and ability to perform them in emergency situations.
2. Ability to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities to ensure swimmer safety and respond to emergency rescues when needed.
3. Ability to enforce all swimming pool rules.
4. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
5. Ability to swim and meet lifesaving requirements.

Education and Experience:

1. Must be at least 15 years old.
2. Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard and have six months of experience as a lifeguard or demonstrate equivalent training or experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

Red Cross Certified Lifeguard

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to meet attendance requirements.
2. Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an indoor pool environment, which may involve physical discomforts related to humidity, heat, noise, dust, and dirt.
