Job summary

City of Las Vegas is seeking a Lifeguard for a part-time, hourly position at municipal pools. You will protect swimmers, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies to ensure a safe aquatic environment.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification is preferred and must be obtained before hire. A swim/tread test will be required, followed by a brief interview. Flexible hours and community program involvement are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification preferred; must be obtained prior to hire.
• Ability to pass pool swim and treading tests as described.
• Bilingual skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards pool and patrons.
• Monitors activities at the pool to prevent accidents.
• Administers First Aid.
• Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards.
• Enforces and adheres to pool rules and regulations.
• Provides general information on pool operation to patrons.
• May set up/take down equipment for programs and events.
• Maintains order and cleanliness in pool and adjoining areas.
• Possible coaching.
